Contemporary speckled calf, gilt tooled raised ribbed-spines, boards gilt tooled at edges and with double gilt fillet borders, marbled endpapers (upper board of vol I almost detached and all vols very worn at headcaps and corners with missing title labels - in protective covers). Pp. [ii] + xli + 240 + [4] blank [&] [ii] + 272 + [2] blank [&] [ii] + 316 + [2] blank [&] [ii] + 277 + [3] blank [&] [ii] + 280 + [19] index + [1] blank + 28 + [2] blank, illus with engraved head and tailpieces in each vol (previous owners' neat inscription in contemporary hand and later bookplates on front prelims).
