Published as a part of a wider set of de Lamartine's works. With a vignette title page. In the original French. This novel is a lesser known work by de Lamartine. Alphonse de Lamartine was a French writer, poet and politician. His bibliography is extensive and versatile. However, he is best known for his instrumental role in the foundation of the Second Republic and the continuation of the Tricolore as the flag of France. In a half morocco binding with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart with some minor rubbing to the joints and to the extremities. Small loss to the head of the spine. Prior owner's signature to the recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to the edges with the odd spot throughout. Very Good
