Contemporary dark green morocco, gilt decorations and lettering, t.e.g., others untrimmed. Joints and edges a little rubbed, backstrip and boards faded, near fine within with some foxing to the endpapers and frontis.; a very good copy. § First edition under this title, inscribed by the author to the illustrator. One of 50 large paper copies, this one out of series, inscribed on the front blank "For my dear friend / E. A. Abbey, to whom this book owes / its chief adornment / Austin Dobson / Nov. 3, 1883." A combined edition with revisions and omissions of Proverbs in Porcelain and Vignettes in Rhyme. NCBEL III, 1427.
