(8),230,(8) pp. First published in New York in 1887. - Thomas Nelson Page (1853-1922) was an American lawyer and author whose fiction usually depicted an idealized vision of the Antebellum South. He was notable for writing much of his dialogue in Negro dialect. This is his first collection of short stories, written in the dialect of the blacks of Eastern Virginia.
