About This Item

New York: Holt, Rinehart & Winston. Very Good+ in Fair dust jacket. 1968. BCE. Hardcover. A full-sized book club edition. Anton Myrer's landmark work has been read by military people since its original publication and praised as the best military and war-related novel written by an American author. The author's characters participate in a series of U.S. Army actions from pre-World War I in Mexico against Pancho Villa through both World Wars to a thinly-disguised Viet Nam-like conflict. Their activities and personalities closely reflect real-life people in real-life military situations. --- In full black cloth-covered boards with decoration in blind to cover; titling and decorations in gilt to spine. Printed on buff papers, and with pale orange topstain. Jacket features Michaels black & white photographic portrait of the author on back panel. --- An about-Very Good+ copy, tightly-bound and unmarked but with faint sunning to edges of cloth. Fair-only dust jacket with chipping, creasing and tears along edges (some tape-repaired); otherwise intact and wrapped in new removable archival mylar protector. (NOTE: Due to the weight of this item, extra shipping charges may be requested.); Tall Octavo (9 to 10 in. tall); [12], 817, [3] pages .
