San Francisco: Presidio, 1994. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. Very lightest wear to tips, corners and edges of the book and jacket, notation "war" to the front endpaper, else clean and unmarked. First printing, no others noted. The biography of a Marine Corps legend. At the start of World War II Merritt A. Edson was sent as the Commanding officer of the Marine Raiders and earned his second Navy Cross on Tulagi. When his unit was sent to fight on Guadalcanal, Colonel Edson led his men in the fighting for which he would later receive the Medal of Honor.
