Peoples Book Club, Chicago, 1947 Ferber (1885-1968) was an American author who wrote her first novel, Dawn O'Hara, in 1911 and her first collection, Buttered Side Down, in 1912. She went on to write So Big (1924), Show Boat (1926), and Giant (1952). One Basket was published in 1947 by Simon & Schuster. The sale item is a book club version, unusual in that it carries a price on the inside of the jacket. Black cloth boards with gold lettering on red block on spine only. Binding is clean and bright, tight and square with no blaws other than minor bumping on spine. Unclipped dust jacket is bright and clean but is worn and chipped at all extremeties. Repairs and restorations have been made. Definitely in good shape for a publication from 1947. 381 pages.
