Lyon: Haratio Cardon, 1613. Hardcover (Vellum). Very Good Condition. 2 volumes in contemporary vellum, very light wear and quite clean, volume titles inked to bottom page edges and spine. Moderate foxing and browning throughout, many text illustrations, largely in the sections on Roman armies and gladiators (the military engravings are very good impressions, the gladiator section a bit lighter) ; printed in two columns. Engraved title, complete in 2 substantial volumes. half title, title, (7), portrait of Lipsius, 882pp; (8), 899pp.
