The red boards are much marked, stained, worn all about from storage and shelving. They are steady and sound. The Southern Rhodesian coat of arms is worn and scuffed. The early pages are peppered with previous owner signatures and annotations. The papertrims are foxed. The early and later pages are worn, foxed, discoloured. Whilst the rest of the contents are flecked, flushed with foxing here and there, the pages are generally clean, clear, comfortable, companionable. Two: A smart copy. The red boards have light shelving wear about the edges. The gilt arms are bright. Top paper trims are gilded. The contents are very neat, clean, clear, confident, pleasinh. Three: A tidy copy. The boards are scuffed, worn about the edges and corners, a little dulled. The contents are most pleasing. Healthy, neat, fresh, clean and clear. Four (pub 1946): The boards are handsome, hale. The papertrims have insect or storage damage. The contents are very pleasing. Fresh-faced, unblemished, secure, very clean and clear. Five (pub: 1946): The serene boards have light shelving wear, very shallow scuffing. The contents are smart and clean and confident. Six (pub 1946): A pleasing copy.
