New York: Crowell Company, 1903. Hardcover. Very Good Minus. 8vo. Green cloth covers with red and gilt filigree design to (somewhat smudged) front board. Rubbing to extremities and nudged corners. Frontis photograph of Helen Keller in (graduating) board and gown. 76 pp. Bookplate of Philip Ranney Brooks ("Hys Booke") to front pastedown. Brooks was a well-known northwest lumberman and innkeeper. Head trimmed with gilt. Fore-edge and tail deckled. Divided into three parts: 1) Optimism Within; 2) Optimism Without; 3) The Practice of Optimism.
