Front board somewhat marked, endpapers and preliminary pages foxed, page edges toned, bokplate removed from front free endpaper. Jacket spine faded, small chip at head of spine. Biography of Orde Wingate, most famous as leader of the Chindits in Burma. He was also involved in organising patrols agains Arab terrorists in Palestine and a supporter of the Zionist cause. He also played a notable part in the defeat of the Italians in Ethipia when he was commander of the troops under Haile Salassie bringing about the emporor's return to the throne... First Edition.
