A form of Tantric Buddhism that developed in India and neighboring countries, most notably Tibet, Vajrayana marks the transition from Mahayana speculative thought to the enactment of Buddhist ideas in individual life. Gunther (1917-2006), a German-born scholar, was a pioneer in addressing contemporary philosophical issues from a deep and learned Buddhist perspective. Introduction by Robert P. Jackson.
