N.p.: N.p., 1920. Vintage advertising card for a performance of the comedy skit "Johnny Comes Marching Home," by actor Jack Mulhall, "ably supported by" actor Emmett Lynn, INSCRIBED by Mulhall on the lower right blank, "To Velma, Yours to Command, Jack Mulhall," lavishly illustrated by Bud McCabe, circa 1920s, with a faint manuscript pencil annotation on the verso "One more Waltz - good number." Vaudevillian, theatre, film, and television actor, Mulhall was a popular screen player in silent films during the 1920s and made a successful transition to sound. He appeared in over 430 films in a career spanning fifty years. Among his notable film appearances include "Within the Law" (1923), "We Moderns" (1925), "The Three Musketeers" (1933), and "The Clutching Hand" (1936). Emmett Lynn began his career as an eccentric character comedian in vaudeville. He began his screen career in 1913, and between 1940 and 1956 would appear in over 140 films. In the 1950s he made multiple television appearances, particularly in westerns, and was featured in nine episodes of the popular television series "The Lone Ranger." 6.75 x 4.5 inches.
