Description

New York: Acme News Pictures, 1941. Vintage borderless photograph of actor Edward G. Robinson on his way to the inauguration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1941, carrying a scroll with wishes of goodwill and luck, signed by his fellow Warner Brothers stars, including Bette Davis, James Cagney, and others. Printed mimeo snipe affixed to the verso, along with a date stamp and the stamp of Acme News Pictures. An outspoken Democrat, Robinson contributed to many of Roosevelt's cultural diplomacy initiatives in the 1940s, and was a vocal campaigner for Roosevelt's re-election in 1944. 6.75 x 8.25 inches.
