Description

London: Valentine. Good+ with no dust jacket. 1921. Unknown. Soft Cover. Original Vintage Mabel Lucie Attwell Postcard - The stamp/date on the reverse shows 1921. The image in a single red border is in the 'Boo-Boo' style, with a pie in the top corner and a row of tiny 'Boo-Boos' dressed as Chefs leading from the pie to a pretty Little Girl where they are "finishing her off" with a ribbon! . A sentiment very much of the period! . The text in blue at the top reads "What Are Little Girls Made of ? " ; and at the bottom ." Sugar and Spice An' All Things Nice That's What Little Girls Are Made of! ". The address and message on the back is in lightly faded ink and the stamp stamped "Newquay ... 22 SP 21". Overall a generally clean and tidy card, but with a few light marks/corner tip rubs/small light crease to top right, but a nice example of the earlier style M. L. A . Artwork.
