About This Item

London: Chapman and Hall. 1898. Five volumes. Bound in contemporary three quarter green calf with five raised bands, decoration and titles in gilt to the spines. Marbled boards. Top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers. Each volume with a tissue guarded frontispiece illustration by A. Jules Goodman and decorated title page. All volumes are in very good condition, the bindings sound with a little rubbing to the extremities and uniform fading of the spines. The contents with the occasional foxing spot to the margins are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Quite scarce in this form. A very attractive set of the "extra Christmas stories", previously published in the Charles Dickens edited magazine "Household Words" and "All the Year Round", presented here in a similar size and format to Dickens' better known seasonal novellas which include A Christmas Carol. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
