Near Fine, in a Very Good dust jacket with price intact. Light strip of sunning to to edge of cloth, mainly at spine. The dust jacket shows toning and soiling. The review slip shows a small strip of toning to the top edge and light curve at the left edge. A very lovely copy, rare with publisher's review slip laid in.

Spotting to both covers with slight toning and creasing to the spine. Light creases to the corners of the covers slightly affecting the corner tips the first and last few pages. The binding is firm and square. Internally, there is no name, inscription or bookplate, a number "10" in pencil at the top corner of the first page and "Kingsley Amis" written in pencil on the title page, otherwise they are clean. A very good clean copy in publishers blue marbled paper wraps. In the original full colour illustrated dustwrapper, designed by Selma Nankivell, featuring illustrated adverts for the first two of Michael Bond's Paddington Bear titles on the rear cover. A crease to the lower rear panel and a little rubbing and chipping to the extremities but overall a very good book in a very good dustwrapper. A scarce item.
