London: Augener Ltd / Philadelphia: McKay, David, 1911.. Landscape format. 23cms x 29cms. Pp.69, 32 full page illustrated plates with music and rhymes to facing pages,some spotting to endpapers. Blue/grey cloth, oval colour onlay illustration to front board, gilt title to front and spine, minor wear to corner tips. VG.** Henriette Willebeek Le Mair (1889-1966) was a Dutch illustrator of children's books. Showing artistic talent from childhood, she was encouraged by her parents. Her first book �Premieres Rondes Enfantines� was published in France in 1904 when she was just 15 years old. Her most prolific period of work was between the years of 1911 to 1917. Like many other artists of the time, her work also appeared on sets of postcards and children�s china. Her style of characterisation is similar to Kate Greenaway. In 1920 she married Hubertus Paulus Baron van Tuyll van Serooskerken (1883�1958), the leader of the Sufi Movement in Netherlands, and adopted the name "Saida".

Packages sent to U.K. addresses will go first-class unless otherwise agreed. Packages sent overseas can be sent by surface-mail or airmail. If packages are sent via airmail, the package can be insured at the customers expense. Please contact us to discuss your needs. PAYMENT: May be made by any conventional means such as personal cheque, international money-order or by direct transfer to our bankers: Barclays Bank PLC, Sudbury Branch, Market Hill, Sudbury, Suffolk. Customers remitting in their own currency should remember that negotiation fees are around twenty dollars and this cost will be added to the invoice total.
