Quarto glazed pictorial boards (marginal paper loss to one corner/rubbed to hinges at head and foot for 1cm) fine doublepage colored endpapers 48pp. A very crisp very clean copy with 4 pop-ups in very good condition.

London: Nister, 1897 by inscription. Hardcover. Good. Tab-activated transformations [6]. . Quarto cloth-backed color pictorial boards (minor surface rubbing) pages with marginal tears but transformations all showing the delightful little children by fine Nister chromolithography at the height of its best period.

London: Lane Publications Circa 1930. Illustrated boards, light wear to extremities, gift inscription, light cover soil. Color frontis and other illustrations in b&w throughout, including a section on Rupert. The real stars of the show are the 7 pop-ups, including a Christmas scene, Old Woman in the Shoe, a Pagoda scene, a fairy, a woodsman who's saw goes back and forth as you open the page, a fabulous carnival scene and a circus elephant. Inside VG - one pop up is creased. Worn corners to Hardcover, has edgewear. Most of the top layer of the spine peeled off and there are multiple pieces of tape horizontally along the edge of the spine which is showing about 1/2" to an inch at places on the cover. Su-11 35 cents on cover.

Inside VG- first spring up has a crease. Some of the hardcover spine has peeled off and is taped. Has edge and corner wear plus a little nick in the cover.

Doublepage pop-up scenes (5) full of children - blind man's buff, boating, bicycling, farmyard etc.. Folio cloth spine pictorial boards (spine worn to head & foot/covers edge worn) 31pp. Titlepage torn without loss but with old cellotape marks, gutters of 3 leaves reinforced with newer linen tape, a few edge tears never touching printed or pop-up areas but 3 with old tape removal marks (less than 1" into margin). The pop-ups are all complete and in working order with only part of one stag's horn in facsimile. One pony's tail re-attached from the back & a few wrong folds strengthened on back (invisibly). All sorts of fragile pieces such as duck heads, ribbons flying, fingers etc are all intact. The text page edges have fared less well with some edge fingering and some edge chips but never affecting any print. Ernest Nister, nd (c1890) 1890. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG. 1st Edition. Nister code No. 1860. Brown cloth backed pictorial boards 19 x 25.5 cm blue and white decorative endpapers. Unpaginated (14) with black and white images within the text and 6 colour moveable pictures each activated by a tab. The images illustrate, Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo-Peep, Hey Diddle Diddle, Mother Hubbard and The Three Bears. As the tab is pulled, the first colour illustration lifts to reveal a second colour illustration and as the tab is pulled again, a third and final colour illustration is revealed. The boards have a little rubbing with minor loss to the spine tips and a little rounding to the corners with a few scratches to the boards. Internally there is reinforcement to both hinges. There is a little uniform toning to the pages. All the pictures are complete and 5 of the 6 are in full working order with the Little Bo-Peep images not lifting without help.
