This is an inscribed travelogue, "Our Tour Around the World" - Containing Short Letters of Travel by John F. Floyd. 1896 1st edition; Charles H. Kerr & Company; Chicago. The book features a frontispiece portrait of the author, and other full-page photographic illustrations (all with tissue guards). Presentation copy - Floyd has written and signed an inscription on the front end paper, as follows: "With best wishes. The Author and Wife. April 2, 1896. John F. Floyd." "Containing a description in brief letters of a tour around the world, through America, Hawaiian Islands, New Zealand, Tasmania, Australia, Ceylon, Egypt, Palestine, Italy, France and England, including ten years' residence in New Zealand and Australia."

Here are a few examples of the contents: Among the Royal Mummies; Off to the Pyramids; On the Indian Ocean; The Natives of New Zealand; A Visit to the Dead Sea; Climbing Mount Vesuvius; A Walk Through Pompeii; Inside the Walls; Among the Mosques and Bazaars; Israel's Passage Through the Red Sea...and much more.

Condition:
Light soiling to the covers; a bit heavier on the spine. A small cloth piece is missing at the top of the spine; tiny cloth tear at the bottom of the spine. Tiny cloth tears at the cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. A strip of blank paper has been affixed to the rear pastedown by the spine. Nice interior - the pages are lightly age-toned and clean with no notable issues found. Author's inscription written in pen on front end paper. Overall the book is in Very Good condition.
