Presumed first ed.; 1312 p., clean and unmarked within on strong paper mildly age-toned but penciled name and date, as well as price, on front end page; beautiful engraving "An Emmigrant Camp" as frontis., with torn tissue guard, is unfortunately damp-stained at edges but the many other engravings, full-page and suitable for framing, are very fine; front gutter cracked but volume firm; leather boards with gilt lettering of blind-stamped lettering on gilt have much decoration, some pictorial, corners are bumped; spine panel abraded at crown and foot with closed tear along upper seam abutting front board. Extra postage.
