1911. JAMES, Henry. THE OUTCRY. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1911. First edition, published simultaneously with the English first. [vi] + 262pp. 8vo., olive-brown cloth, lettered within a single-rule frame in gilt to upper board, lettering and flame device in gilt on spine; white endpapers; top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed. This would be a very clean copy but for progressive dampstaining to upper right corners of the last sixty pages; lower hinge starting; ink ownership stamp to ffep. Faded to spine and top edges of boards; wear to head and foot of spine, with shallow loss (approx. 1/8 of an inch) to the foot; slight lean to spine. (Edel A70.b; BAL 10674).
