Henry Hurd Swinnerton (1875-1966) was a British zoologist and geologist, lecturer in natural sciences at University College, Nottingham. His interpretation of fossils as living organisms contributed to a better understanding of palaeoecology and evolution. He also authored <i>Fossils</i> (1960), a book in the well-known New Naturalist Series (NN 62). (ODNB).
