3 Volumes de18x11 cm. Com [iii], 447; [iii], 467; [iii], 404 págs. Encadernações inteiras de pele, com dois rótulos verde escuros e ferros a ouro nas lombadas, folhas de guarda e cortes das folhas marmoreados.

Exemplar com danos e sinais de desgaste nas lombadas e nas pastas, ex-libris de Celestino de Matos Domingues nos versos das pastas anteriores.

Após uma contextualização histórica e biográfica de Públio Virgílio Maro, apresenta-se o corpo da sua obra, profusamente anotado em rodapé por Charles de la Rue (Paris, 1643 – 1725), também conhecido pelo seu nome latinizado Carolus Ruaeus, um grande orador da Companhia de Jesus na França do século XVII. Inclui nomes de plantas e animais em português e um extenso comentário também em português às Geórgicas de Virgílio, da autoria do padre Jesuíta Francisco Furtado, publicado por José Inácio Roquete. 

O primeiro volume reúne as dez Éclogas e os quatro livros que compõem as Geórgicas. Nos seguintes volumes encontra-se a Eneida.
