Biography of the controversial Mexican peasant guerrilla leader and revolutionary. 208 pages, agewear, no major flaws. Several related newspaper clippings are tucked in. Purchased in Mexico in 1976.

Fair. USED ACCEPTABLE Former Hardcover Library book. It has normal library markings including card holder/reference sticker and library call number on spine. Front and back cover is worn with some peeling, cover scuff/indents, edge and corner wear that shows cardboard. Has school and/or library name blacked out with marker on page edges, cover and/or inside of book and with white black out stickers. There are folded/wrinkled and dimpled pages and bumped corners. Inside front and back covers and some pages are reinforced with library tape.

It comes with its original unclipped dust jacket in Very Good+ condition. (Click on photo.) Although this book is specially bound as a "Doubleday Reinforced Libarary Edition," it is NOT an ex-libary book and there are NO library markings. The book is bound in a handsome illustrated cloth with a painting by Barbara Bascove. The same illustration is used on the dust jacket, as shown in my photo. The dust jacket has some closed tears that have been carefully repaired on the reverse using non-acidic tape. I've placed the dust jacket into a Brodart protective sleeve. This page-turning biography of Mexico's greatest revolutionary hero reveals the great tragedy of Pancho Villa's life -- that he helped destroy an old way of life but was unable to help build a new one.
