Bound in clean red cloth with clear gilt titles to front board and spine, this dated 1927 Private Subscriber's Edition No. 28 (First Edition) is signed and inscribed to Samuel Mitchell by the author 20/10/1927. Condition is VG. XV1/557pp with Introduction by Hilaire Belloc, Preface, 20 Chapters, Parliaments 1295-1885, 55 illustrations, List of Members, General Index, Names Index, List of Subscribers to the Private Numbered Edition, Names of Subscribers to the Public Edition. Inscription on FFEP and Name on fixed front endpaper. Author's signature and Compliments to Samuel Mitchell on verso of FFEP. Manuscript announcement of "Private Subscriber's Edition No. 28" on verso of title page.(Two title pages exist, the first dated 1926 and the second 1927). Red cloth to boards and spine slightly faded, although titles all still clear. Condition is VG . Very Good. Hardcover. Private Subscriber's Edition. 1927.
