A signed first edition presentation copy of this volume of literary extracts arranged by English man of letters, bibliophile and poet Frederick Locker-Lampson.A presentation leaf prior to the half title notes that this volume is the property of Thomas Gaisford Esq, a member of the Philobiblon Society, and is signed by Frederick Locker himself, dated January 1879.The Philobiblon society was a society of bibliophiles founded in 1853, consisted of only forty members, and disbanded in 1883.A charming 'patchwork' volume of miscellaneous literary extracts and poems, signed by the author. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Light marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Very Good

The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
