Bound handsomely in cloth and protected in a glassine dust-jacket. 84 pp., and with color illustrations galore, comprising an exhibition catalogue exploring the artistic movements and artists that led to the various forms of abstract art. Previous owner's signature, a dealer stamp inside front flap, else a clean, tight copy. Sherman E. Lee contributed a Preface, and then several sections devoted to 19th century painters and paintings on into the 20th century, featuring works by Max Beckmann, Paul Cezanne, Robert Delaunay, Vincent Van Gogh, Juan Gris, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Lee, Henri Matisse, Piet Mondrian, Emil Node, Pablo Picasso and many others.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
