Near fine in illustrated boards (previous owner's name) in a very good dust jacket with some toning, especially to the spine and front flap, and a few small chips to the edges. Laid in ephemera is fine. . Early printing. Stories recounting some of the feats of this American legend as he moved West from the woods of Maine to the Great Lakes and Minnesota and finally considers a move to the pine forests of the Northwest. Colorfully illustrated by Norma Madge Lyon and Harold L. Price. Large format, unpaginated. Colophon notes that the first edition consisted of 3000 copies, with 500 numbered copies and that the (blue) text was handset. No indication of printing, but the rear flap lists through a book published in 1950. Map endpapers. Laid in are 4 pieces of ephemera - a large postcard from Minnesota's Paul Bunyan Vacationland, a small postcard of the statue Paul and his blue ox in Bemidji and a photograph of the same topic, and a giant Minnesata Bucks - 'Paul Bunyan Heap Big Wampum.'
