About This Item
London: Hamish Hamilton, 1946. Book. Good. Hardcover. First Edition.. 280pp. HARDCOVER Clean copy internally. No inscriptions, with some caveats: Slt. adhesive residue to fep., where there was clearly a bookplate at some time. There is also a paper fold/crease to main title page which is just a manufacturing fault where the paper was creased prior to printing. At the rear of the book, someone has also added a small corner pocket to the final endpaper. Externally, the red cloth is somewhat bumped & edge worn, but the binding remains strong. Includes supply & fitting of new correctly sized protective lyfjacket. Sold as tidy, functional HC reading copy only. Size: 12mo - over 63/4" - 73/4" tall.
Synopsis
Peace Breaks Out (1981) is a novel by American author John Knowles, better known for A Separate Peace (1959). The books share the setting of the Devon preparatory school, probably a reference to Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire, which Knowles attended in his youth.
