London: George Routledge and Sons , c1862. Leather. Very Good. 6.5" by 4". None . A new edition of this early novel by Lord Lytton. Dated around a new edition copy catalogued at the University of Birmingham libraries on Copac, with matching pagination but noting a leaf of plates; this edition not illustrated. Originally published in 1828. An early novel by Lord Lytton, telling the tale of the adventures of a dandy; this novel inaugurated his career as a popular novelist. Robert Bulwer-Lytton was an English statesman and poet, mostly remembered however as a prolific novelist. Rebound in half calf over marbled boards, with marbled edges and endpapers, gilt tooling to spine, Externally sound with minor shelf wear, rubbed to back strip, lightly bumped to extremities. Bookseller sticker to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to occasional leaf, pages otherwise generally bright and clean. Very Good
