WITH AN ORIGINAL SKETCH INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY DAVID LEVINE - Small quarto [approximately 10 inches high by 7 inches wide], black boards backed with gray cloth & titled in gilt in a dust wrapper. The dust jacket is lightly chipped with a small area of rubbing & foxing to its rear panel. The jacket spine is slightly darkened. viii, [1] leaf & 150 pages. Illustrated with profuse black-and-white caricatures. Near fine in a very good dust wrapper.

First edition.

With an original sketch of a man tying on an apron titled "Bruno Levine". The drawing is inscribed "To the Lessers" and signed "David Levine".

The contents of the book are introduced and selected by John Updike.

Laid in are a flier for a joint exhibition of David Levine's drawings and Laura Ziegler's sculpture; and an offprint of a New York Times article about Levine's Coney Island drawings.
