About This Item
Synopsis
Perelandra, the second novel in Lewis's science fiction trilogy, tells of Dr. Ransom's voyage to the paradise planet of Perelandra, or Venus, which turns out to be a beautiful Eden-like world. He is horrified to find that his old enemy, Dr. Weston, has also arrived and is putting him in grave peril once more. As the mad Weston's body is taken over by the forces of evil, Ransom engages in a desperate struggle to save the innocence of Perelandra! -C.S. Lewis Official Website.

Reviews
German Überland-Trams, aka Überlandstraßenbahnen, have some kinship to American Interurbans, and typically a charm all their own. Some are Straßenbahnen that wandered into the countryside beyond urban areas, some are Kleinbahnen that were electrified and used trams or tram-like equipment. At least one is a non-electrified Kleinbahn that chose to reestablish itself legally under the Straßenbahn laws, rather than the more rigorous railway laws, In some ways, this book is a hodge-podge, as if compiled from a selection of magazine articles that are more or less related to the theme. The book is neither comprehensive, nor entirely superficial, but provides a mostly-color overview of the topic, while occasionally delving deeper. It should delight anyone with any interest at all in the topic, while frustrating those with a deeper interest (preexisting, or inspired by this book), because there is not a good next step: delving deeper requires going to a variety of books whose topics overlap with this title, or cover a single railway.
