About This Item
[London:], [1771].. 335 x 212mm. [Engraving 290 x 175mm].. Single leaf, folding plate. Fine impression, copper engraving. Suitable for framing. ÒSanders compiled interesting and amusing tales of England, Wales, Scotland, and the Channel Isles based on both his own travels and those of other writers of the day such as Daniel Defoe....From the view in our print here, we can see that in 1771 Lambeth Bridge was yet to be built (it was finally built in 1882). At the time the best way to travel between the Palace and Parliament was still the horse ferry which had been in operation sine at least the 16th century.Ó [-Lambeth Palace Library].
