Hodder & Stoughton, [1921] 1921. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG-. 1st Attwell illustrated editon 18.5 x 25cm blue cloth with gilt blue and green decoration and gilt titles to the front and spine. Fawn endpapers, viii 185[3]pp, with 12 tipped in colour plates on titled fawn heavy stock and 19 black and white images within the text. The front board is clean and bright. There are a couple of small marks on the spine, a 0.7cm faint drip mark on the front cover together with more obvious marking to the rear. Internally there is a gift inscription on the front free endpaper. There is a a little spotting to the edge of the text block which sometimes moves onto the top edge at the rear of the book where there is a slight tide mark measuring 4.5 x 1 cm along the top margin of the last 30 or so pages and some spotting to the three blanks at the rear of the book. All the tipped in images are in excellent condition and without tears, creases and rubs. Despite its faults this is a good looking book with beautiful images that are in excellent condition. Synopsis

Peter Pan: or, The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up (1904) is the title of Scottish playwright and novelist James M. Barrie's most famous play, and Peter and Wendy is the title of Barrie's 1911 novelization of it. Both tell the story of Peter Pan, a mischievous little boy who can fly, and his adventures on the island of Neverland with Wendy Darling and her brothers, the fairy Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, the Indian princess Tiger Lily, and the pirate Captain Hook.
