Spine ends lightly bumped, small previous owner name on front free endpaper, a few small smudges on page edges. Red dust wrapper with stylized gold mask very lightly rubbed and edgeworn. "This is the story of Erik, the child born disfigured, destined to become the Phantom of the Opera. It is the story of a quest for the simplest of heart's desires: to be loved. It is a story of power and darkness, of magic and murder, of sensuality, betrayal, and ultimately, the eternal quality of love." Recommended.</b> .

If you are at all interested in The Phantom of the Opera, this book is a must. Susan Kay really captured the emotion of this character through his whole life, starting with his birth, giving more detail into why this character is the way he is. Overall a fantastic book I would recommend to anyone.
