Woodcut title vignette, (4), 432 pages, 10 etched plates after Wächter. Publisher's printed cream boards. Printed title to flat spine, with typographical ornaments, both covers with 4 different typographical frames, front cover with title, back cover with Barth's address. Large 4to (400 x 290 mm). Ebert 12356 ; Graesse IV, 274 ; Lanckoronska/Oehler III, 18 ; Schweiger I, 566 ; Dibdin II, 189 "The printer is Degen, the Bulmer of Germany. This is a very sumptuous edition, published under the care of the late Count D'Elci." First edition of Degen's most notable edition de luxe printed in folio, is his edition of Lucan's Pharsalia, an epic poem on the civil war between Caesar and Pompey. 500 Jahre Druck in Oesterreich, pp. 270/271). Scattered light foxing. (Mayer. Wiens Buchdrucker-Geschichte II, 158, footnote 241).
