[6], vii-xvi, [2], 3-1088 pp. Blue cloth with gold lettering on the front board, gold lettering on the spine. Illustrated with a full-page photograph (black and white) of Carnap. Edited by Paul Arthur Schilpp. Volume XI in the Library of Living Philosophers. With an autobiography of Carnap, and with essays from Putnam, Quine, Nagel, Goodman, Donald Davidson, Ayer, Bar-Hillel, Popper, Strawson, and others. Also with Carnap's replies to the essays, and with a bibliography of Carnap. A large compendium of work from and about one of the leaders of the Vienna Circle. Carnap was one of the founders of Logical Positivism, and his work was hugely influential in developing the analytic school of philosophy. Light soiling to the top textblock; jacket with traces of edge wear and chipping.
