New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1936. 586pp. Red cloth with black spine labels. Rubbing to the lettering on the spine, toning to the endpapers, and the text block, otherwise a clean, unmarked copy. "A" is on the copyright page indicating a First Edition, first printing. Unclipped jacket has chipping along the edges of the panels and the spine is darkened. the Jacket is laminated. Scarce copy, especially with the jacket. "Santayana was considered one of the most important minds in early 20th century philosophy, and was instrumental in revitalizing philosophy in America. He is best known for his witty aphorisms, especially the phrase, 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it'.". First American Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good-. Our Internet business began in 2001. Upon visiting the store, we can show and sell individual online titles upon request. Store hours are 10:00-5:30 (Tues.-Sat.) and 11:00-4:00 (Sun.). The business is run by Richard Chalfin.

Terms of Sale: All sales are net. Prepayment is required. Postage in USA: items will be sent Media Mail Rate ($4) unless Priority Mail is requested ($6-$8).
