About the author

Carmen Lomas Garza lives in San Francisco. In addition to painting, she makes fine prints and paper cut-outs. A selection of her paintings was published in a popular bilingual children's book, Family Pictures/Cuadros de Familia. Amalia Mesa-Bains, an artist, curator, critic, and MacArthur Fellow, also lives in San Francisco.
