Summary: The pilgrim "Christian" undertakes his dangerous journey to the Celestial City, experiencing physical and spiritual challenges as he makes his progres. This is a wonderfully illustrated retelling and reimagining pictorially for modern audiences. John Bunyan (1628 - 1688) was an English writer and Puritan preacher best remembered as the author of the Christian allegory The Pilgrim's Progress. Gary D. Schmidt (born 1957) is an American author of children's and young adults' fiction books. He currently is a professor of English at Calvin University. Barry Moser (born 1940) is an artist, known as a printmaker and illustrator of many fine works of literature. He is also the owner, operator, and proprietor of Pennyroyal Press.
