Doubleday, 1988. First Edition . Hardcover. Good/Good. (1st edition) Large, thicker, heavy book, black cloth spine, dark green boards, very bright gilt lettering on spine, light blue color inside covers and adjacent end papers, 490 pages, ink lines in some margins throughout, separation between pages 11 and 13 at inner front hinge. On title page in black ink: "For Lisa and Joe, whith best regards to two fellow-toilers in the lushest vineyard of all, Paul," then, a black line through the printed name, signed "Paul West." DJ heavy paper beneath mylar, colorfully designed in blue, brown, white and red, praise on back from New York Times Book Review, Boston Globe, George Plimpton and others. DJ has light wear to tips, very slight wear at spine top and bottom edges, 1/2" tear at top back spine indentation. DJ and book, just Good.
