Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for former owner name and address label on FFFP and front pastedown. Book Condition: Very Good +; bumped tail and upper front tip; slight shelfwear. DJ: Good+; chipping at head and tail; wear at tips; bumping and small closed tears to top edge. Gray cloth boards and spine with bright maroon lettering on the spine and Neptune on the front board. 182 pp 12mo. The author was a physician sent to Bikini Atoll to watch for radioactive contamination during and after the atomic bomb tests. He gives a straight down-to-earth description of what an atomic bomb can do to ships, islands, seaports, harbors, and thereby to human beings. The book reveals the power of the atom bomb to the man in the street to demonstrate that atomic war has no remedy as once that power is loosed, it will destroy us all. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
