With a foreword by Wolfgang Braunfels, a translation into English by Charles W. Jones of the Directives of Adalhard, 753-826, the Ninth Abbot of Corbie, and with a note by A. Hunter Dupree on the Significance of the Plan of St. Gall to the History of Measurement. Bound in cream coloured linen cloth with red leather spine labels. A few corners lightly bumped, some soiling to front panel of Vol. I, some wear to spines, lettering on spine label of Vol. II is faded. Housed in three separate chemises within cloth covered slipcase. Scattered minor flaws including small tears to inside lining of slipcase and a few stains on the exterior. A substantial set weighing in at 38 pounds, which will incur extra shipping charges..
