New York: Nelson Doubleday, Inc., 1924. edited by Henry Van Dyke assisted by Hardin Crain and Asa Don Dickinson 294 pages to the navy blue 12mo pocket-sized volume with gilt topstain and gilt titles and decorations on spine and front cover. Featured authors are Shakespeare, Browning, Shelley, Keats, Tennyson, Rossetti, Wordsworth, Milton, Longfellow, Coleridge, Dryden, Byron and more. Editor Henry Van Dyke, Jr. (1852-1933) was a Presbyterian minister (like his father for whom he is named) and a professor of English literature at Princeton University. He was also an author of poems, short stories and essays. There is a library call number on spine; there are no other library markings. Pages are toned. Gilt titles on cover and spine are faded. Head and heel of spine are bumped and lightly worn. Corners are worn. Split at front hinge after title page, cover is still firmly attached.
