First editions thus, complete in 17 volumes. Volumes One through Sixteen were published by Smith Elder and Company in 1889, and prepared under Browning's supervision. Volume 17 was published posthumously in 1894, and contains Browning's last poem (Asolando) as well as biographical notes for all the poems, and the index for all 17 volumes.
The books are half bound in leather over marbled boards, with marbled endpapers and gilded top edges of the text block.
Condition of the books is Good externally, with light wear to the leather, most noticeable at the board joints and edges. Condition of the books internally is Very Good Plus. Volume One contains the prior owner's bookplate on the front pastedown endpaper. Interior pages are otherwise complete and unmarked.
Standard shipping is USPS Media Mail. A shipping surcharge will apply for Priority or International shipping options.
