Hardcover. thick sm4to, 24cm, lv,691,24p., publisher's ads., lithographed frontis portrait and engraved vignette half title, (both foxed), printed in double-columns in frame borders, index, in the original blind decorated green cloth, gilt spine titles, and gilt harp on the upper cover, some wear on the edges but sound, a good to very good copy (Ilc). ~ Thomas Moore (1779 1852) was an Irish writer, poet and lyricist celebrated for his Irish Melodies. Their setting of English-language verse to old Irish tunes marked the transition in popular Irish culture from Irish to English. Moore and Robert Service are considered among the best read aloud poets and are still popular in as pub fare in a few places.
