About This Item

Dust Jacket. Blemish - The jacket surfaces are uniformly moderately toned. The top panels and spine edge is chipped and torn in spots (photo). The jacket is fully attached and is structurally strong. The flaps are unclipped (photo). Bonus for the purchaser, a complimentary protective Mylar cover is expertly attached to preserve the jacket in its current condition (photo). Book: Blemish: The first free endpaper has the original owner's name and date of possession (photo). The remainder of the book is pristine. This book was obviously cherished and cared for. No other marks or entries, pages have no toning. The boards and spine are strong and sturdy, the book lies flat, plumb, and square. No wear spots on board edges or tips (photos). From Wikipedia: "Galen Cranz is a Professor of the Graduate School, Architecture at the College of Environmental Design at the University of California, Berkeley, who studies the social and cultural bases of architectural and urban design. She is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique, a kinesthetic educational system, who founded the new field "Body Conscious Design." "The Politics of Park Design: A History of Urban Parks in America (1982), which surveys the rise of the park system from 1850 to the present through four stages -- "the pleasure ground, the reform park, the recreation facility and the open space system," and the 1998 book The Chair: Rethinking Culture, Body, and Design."
