About the author

Kathleen Krull's grandmother emigrated from county Kerry in Ireland, her grandfather from county Roscommon. She grew up near Chicago, now lives in San Diego, and enjoys visiting Ireland to meet relatives. She is the author of "The Book of Rock Stars: 24 Musical Icons that Shine Through History"; "Gonna Sing My Head Off!"; A"Woman for President: The Story of Victoria Woodhull";" Pocahontas: Princess of the New World"; the Giants of Science series of biographies; and several books illustrated by her husband, Paul Brewer. David McPhail has written and illustrated more than eighty books for children, including the classic Pig Pig series, Water Boy, The Searcher and Old Tree, and Sisters, plus If You Were My Bunny by Kate McMullan, "When Sheep Sleep "by Laura Numeroff, and "Mud Is Cake" by Pam Munoz Ryan. Before creating the illustrations for "A Pot o' Gold," he did research by traveling throughout Ireland. He lives with his family in New Hampshire.
