Charming small format book bound in navy cloth with brilliant silver embossed titles on spine, peppered with classical black and white Holbein style woodcuts throughout. [4], [i-ii] iii-xxiv, [1]-223 [224-8] pages; This ecumenical humorous Renaissance classic using Folly, herself, to highlight the wasteful and pedantic efforts of man was ostensibly written at the home of the author Erasmus's friend Thomas More. The book was widely printed and later used during the Elizabethan age as a tool of education and has endured to the present day as an all-time piece of classical literature; Ex-Libris; Wood block print; 16mo .
